General Anesthesia

Anesthetic that is administered intravenously which induces a state of unconsciousness.

For many patients, the thought of undergoing a surgical procedure in the mouth, jaws or on the face causes extreme anxiety. Here in our office, we are committed to the comfort of all of our patients. With the aid of sedation and general anesthesia, we can make your experience relaxed and stress-free. Because of our doctors’ advanced training, they have the knowledge and the experience to make your surgery as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Above all, safety is our primary concern. Our doctors have extensive training and experience in the administration of local anesthesia, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Members of our surgical team are CPR certified and trained for in-office emergencies. Our operating rooms are equipped with the same monitors and equipment used in hospitals for administering safe anesthesia. We follow the strict guidelines developed by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Because of the surgical and anesthetic treatment, we require that our patients be seen before the actual surgery for a consultation with the doctor to explain and discuss the surgery and appropriate anesthesia options. Patients receiving IV anesthesia will be required to fast prior to surgery, however, there may be exceptions depending on your medical history.

Again, our office is committed to providing you with the highest quality care. We will make every effort to ensure that your visit with us is a comfortable experience. We look forward to meeting you and value your trust and confidence in our office. If you have any questions please contact our office.
